Bio

Soner Ersen is a London-based jazz pianist and composer. He has contributed to numerous projects in various capacities, including pianist, keyboardist, composer, and educator.

Soner Ersen earned a BA Honours in Jazz and a PGCE (QTS) in Music from Middlesex University. Throughout his career, he has studied under renowned jazz performers and educators in the UK, such as Chris Batchelor, Rob Townsend, Nikki Iles, and Garrett Williams. Additionally, he has had the honour of performing alongside esteemed British jazz musicians like Jim Mullen, Mark Mondesir, Clark Tracy, Mark Lockheart, Tony Kofi, Nigel Price, Duncan Eagles, Eric Ford, and Benet Mclean.

He teaches both in an online format and face-to-face, actively participating in recording projects from his home studio. He has collaborated with Cypriot fusion guitarist Okan Ersan, resulting in the release of a single in 2021, where he worked alongside Steve Rose, Ralph Salmins, and Pat Levett from the UK. He also collaborated with Okan Ersan, releasing his second single in 2023. Currently, he is in the process of creating his debut jazz album as the Soner Ersen Quintet and organising jazz jam sessions at County Arms upstairs in Highams Park, featuring some of the UK’s leading jazz artists.
